Arrivederci America; as rights become privileges, then taken away…

Yesterday. What a day. Not only the death of reproductive rights for women but the passage of draconian voter suppression laws – on the same day – in Texas. Typical.

Parts of New York were under water due to flash floods. New Jersey was hit by a tornado. Ida didn’t just crush Louisiana, it reminded us on the 16th anniversary of Katrina, electricity is still and forever an issue. No wonder Americans are feeling vulnerable. Little surprise Zoloft trends on twitter. And that was just yesterday.

Everyday the police continue to carry out their reign of terror, making sure we have 25% of prison population even though we’re only 5% of the world population.

Dark times. Military complex is completely out of control, we don’t even know the budget anymore. It’s a secret. Dept of Defense (formerly known as the war dept) makes up 25% of budget and could be 50% of discretionary spending. But how do we know? Pentagon cannot be audited. Cannot happen, not held accountable. Therefore, unnaccountable political and military animals running amok.

Eris the Goddess of Chaos is creating surround sound.

The day after we left Afghanistan we give 60 million to Ukraine – apparently we’re going after Russia, then China – why not, we have 800 bases around the globe. Well. Good luck with that….that’s how Empires go down.

Gore Vidal was the first to call American an Empire. He specified the day we ran outta gas, but even he knew it wasn’t on any given day. It’s like bankruptcy. It happens gradually, then in a minute, all gone…..

Like yesterday. What a day….
