Depends where you’re seated at the table re Russia, Europe and the rest

Who knows what’s on Putin’s mind. Diplomats suggest he wants NATO out of his backyard, others suggest he wants some respect; speculation splashed across daily papers.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if someone knew? I know the French and Germans will pursue dialogue with Putin, today, maybe? The only thing many do know is that Russian rarely back down.

As a US expat living in Italy, I’m more leary than ever concerning America’s ability to create chaos in other countries. After the death and drama, leaving the rest to address the damage. The whole Libyan debacle effected Italy, completely.

Unfortunatly, the UK is desperately trying to stay relevent – of course – making it worse.

The only thing for certain – our energy prices are going through the roof. Merkel made some dramatic decisions. Much of the shortfall will be made up by burning natural gas, now at record high prices, until renewables can fill the gap later this decade.

That’s the plan, in the meantime the UK and the US wish to dictate Europe’s attitude – again – making it worse.

America makes Russia the bad guy, and perhaps Putin is a bad actor. But war is not an option for Europe. I doubt it’s an option for Russia. But it doesn’t stop the propaganda.

Allora. Me being me, I’ll just post pretty pics from Prague when we lived there in 2012. When Lola, a lovely Russian came to our place and taught me how to make Borscht; it was a wonderful evening. That’s all I really know, now.
