Olaf Scholz addresses the Bundestag: 24th February marks transformation of German foreign policy

Silly photos from last week but serious speeches at the Bundestag in Berlin today. The coalition partners will need to vote but the messages were delivered with meaning. Indeed, a special session for the German Parliament; a major moment. (Speeches in English on dw.com)

When packing for a trip to France I thought about packing the opera gloves and Bavarian hat because of what my Italian friend said earlier that day, “war is in the wind”. What a difference a week makes, not to mention several decades.

Putin’s war has seriously triggered the Europeans. For a decade I’ve written how Europeans are serious about solidarity. The EU is all about No War, and they mean it.
