French Elections: Part Deux

Welcome to ‘A Couple of Europhiles’ where one of the Europhiles, Francis, has correctly predicted the last 14 elections, including Trump and Brexit on their podcast. They explore cultural realities and dissonance and today, as promised, Bailey and Francis bring you the French Elections; Part Deux. Why Macron won and what makes the elections in France uniquely interesting, compared to the US, Italy and German style of electing their leaders.

From Lake Garda, located two hours west of Venice and one hour away from Europe’s most romantic balcony, in Verona – they discuss whether the current crisis will make Europe weaker or stronger; how the EU will address financial concerns, pool their sovereignty, enabling them to punch above their weight so they don’t have to worry about the Russians, US or China dictating their decisions.

Ukraine is talked about, of course, and how the difference in distance impacts each country’s perspective on Ukraine. However, the EU is a peace project, so let’s project a peaceful solution; the first step is listening to A Couple of Europhiles.
