The French Elections: Part Deux

Time for another episode of “A Couple of Europhiles”. It’s worth a listen because one of the Europhiles, Francis, has predicted the last 14 elections, including Trump and Brexit.

Time to explore cultural realities and dissonance and today, as promised, we deliver the French elections. Why Macron won and what makes the elections in France uniquely interesting; compared to the US, Italian and German style of electing their leaders.

From Lake Garda, located two hours west of Venice and one hour away from Europe’s most romantic balcony, in Verona – we discuss whether the current crisis will make Europe weaker or stronger, how the EU will address financial concerns, pool their sovereignty – enabling them to punch above their weight so they won’t have to worry about the Russians, US or China dictating their decisions.

Ukraine is talked about, of course, and how the difference in distance impacts each country’s perspective on the war. However, the EU is a peace project, so let’s project a peaceful solution; the first step is listening to A Couple of Europhiles.
