Just a friendly reminder to fellow writers out there – keep doodling and writing and recording everything you can.
It’s proved critical. For me it’s like shopping for milk, if I forget it I’ll regret it later on. Going through my journals, no matter how trivial the entry, and most are….it not only provides details, ideas, it shows timeline, represents progress, forward motion and tasks completed.
Writing a book goes forever and we know that feeling, we know how much we need to feel like we’re following through and completing a project.
So many ways to find ideas. By meditating, doodling, recording dreams. Or by simply pushing your way through the process every single day, no matter how it gets you down.
And it’s always a pleasure to quote Joan Didion; Keep on familiar terms with your former self’. Wonderful advice from the master. Who knows, you may need to tap into your former self in the future.
Sometimes when I think about the things my feet have seen I would have forgotten half of them if I hadn’t put pen to paper.
