Looking back there was so much drama; why not make our own!

Two separate celebrations in Seattle. On this day, twenty two years ago we were married by Judge Richard Jones, brother of Quincy Jones; equally extraordinary brothers.

Had to wait to celebrate – my brother Blair was ill and would die from a brain tumour. Blair was far too young and life is so unfair. And I know I’m not alone, but when one loses a sibling, we’re always kind of surprised we’re still alive.

Allora, it was the best of times, it was the worst of times….who knew 9/11 was waiting around the corner.

After building a large consulting company, a life of leisure came my way – perhaps too much time cooking and drinking Italian red wine while living on our houseboat, but what a super address, I’d renovated the entire upper floor, embraced the Seattle lifestyle – our first home; love at first sight!

Looking back, there was so much drama at the time. So why not make more…we listened to the call to adventure and made our own…

…sailing away to Europe aboard Madi (foto above) in 2002 – an incredible 43′ Nauticat teak sailboat. Built by the Fins for the Baltic sea -Madi could withstand more than I ever could – still surprised we made it across the pond.

Then the odyssey began, little surprise our anniversary date is 22.11.00. “Lift off” as my life partner likes to say….

… I’m grateful, and kinda tired….and luv my guy more than ever.
