My guy’s in Montreal

He sent this photo just now from his hotel room in Canada; apparently it’s quite cold at -11.

Just around the block, some 20+yrs ago, we were aboard Madi, our sailboat, at the Montreal yacht club. It was summer, so warm and the famous jazz festival was in full swing.

I was recruiting a young man to sail away with us named Francois. He was young and single – and now has a lovely wife and 2 children. We still keep in touch. It was the kind of adventure that changes your life.

Back then we were in the middle of flying, driving and sailing our way across Canada and the St Lawrence seaway, before sailing across the Atlantic, before the odyssey began…
