The treasure beneath our feet

In my next book one of the interviews includes Fabrizio Garbarino, he’s the President of the Agricultural Consortium in Roccaverano. He and his team create award winning cheese – Robiola – and he also wishes people would appreciate the treasure beneath their feet.

I call my book, “The Personal Legends of Piemonte,” and I hope to publish it this fall. I think of all the lessons I learned from the Piemontese, artisans like Fabrizio, all these people who are very much attached to their land. Sure, Torino is grand and FIAT is legend but Fabrizio and many of his fellow Piemontese know the heart of Piemonte lives and breathes in its small towns.

That’s why I’m writing about them and all the lessons I’ve learned. Fabrizio also formed a small coop and called it La Masche, The Witch, because he understands agricultural governance, along with the magic, it’s out there, creating surround sound.

He appreciates technology, incorporating it, testing the details, playing with them and rearranging them to produce their award winning Robiola cheese. More importantly, he appreciates the treasure beneath our feet.
